How much does membership cost?

One session each week is £79 per month.
Two sessions each week is £119 per month.
Discounts are available if you have more than one child who is a Leap member.

What days and times are the sessions?

Sessions take place after school on weekdays (16:00 and 17:30) and on Saturday (9:00, 10:30 and 12:30). The full schedule is on the Centre page.

How long are the sessions?

Each session lasts one hour and fifteen minutes.

Who will tutor my child?

Our tutors are qualified teachers, employed and trained by Leap. Each session also has a teaching assistant, they are usually a student at the University of Sheffield.

Can I try a session for free?

Yes! We would love you to come along for a free trial session. Simply contact us to set one up.

Why should I try Leap?

We provide the highest quality tuition for children aged 8 to 14, with qualified teachers and following the National Curriculum. You can have a free trial session with no obligation. We don’t save your details and we will never spam you with emails and calls.

How do I pay for membership?

You can pay by Direct Debit or with Childcare Vouchers. Because Leap is registered with Ofsted, you may be able to use Working Tax Credits to help pay for the tuition.

How long does the membership last?

Membership renews each month, there is no fixed term commitment.

Do I have to sign a contract?

No, we will not tie you into a contract. The membership renews each month.

Are your staff DBS checked?

All our staff hold a current DBS check.

Is Leap registered with Ofsted?

Leap is registered with Ofsted. Our reference number is EY554191.

Do you have parking?

We have a small private car park which is available for pick-up and drop-off.

What is Universal Design for Learning?

Universal Design for Learning is a pedagogical framework where the needs of all learning styles are considered. It means that our sessions suit all children.

What does my child need to bring to the session?

They can bring along a bottle of water, everything else is supplied by Leap. We do not allow food in the centre.

How do I book sessions?

You will have a login to our portal. You can view the weeks ahead and book sessions there.

How do I track my child’s progress?

After each session, the tutor will write a short report about your child’s learning. They may suggest other sessions to attend. You can read these reports in the portal.

Do I have to stay with my child?

No, you are free to do some shopping, go to the gym, a cafe, whatever you choose.

What happens in the session?

The sessions all follow a similar structure; an introduction to the subject, an evaluation of current knowledge, explaining, understanding and confirming.

What if I have a question for the tutor?

You can speak to them. However, they may be busy looking after the learners, so you can also ask the Centre Manager any questions.

Can I request specific areas or subjects for my child to focus on?

Yes, that would be great. We tailor the lessons to your child. Let us know if they need to work on telling the time or grammar, then we can work that into sessions.

Is there homework?

No, children will have been set a suitable amount of homework by their teacher at school. At Leap we supplement their learning in line with the National Curriculum.
