Looking for a English tutor?
Leap’s private tutors deliver English lessons with creativity, imagination and fun!
Our English tuition programme has been written by qualified teachers to make sure it is always relevant to the national curriculum. We have made sessions packed with quality content, but also made sure that it is always engaging and fun for learners.
• Qualified teachers
• Follows the national curriculum
• Engage your child with learning through participation, literacy games and 1-to-1 tutor support.
• Parents and children report improvements within the first weeks.
At Leap, we make the tutoring inclusive and, by using diverse interests and the creative nature of children, we build their confidence of using the English language in an accurate yet creative way to produce pieces of writing they are proud of.
English is a broad subject with spelling, punctuation and grammar being the main components. At Leap we focus the sessions in two ways; learning about the concepts and applying them practically. In every session there is also a focus on spelling and handwriting improvement.
We will build your child’s knowledge and confidence in reading, writing, grammar and punctuation. Learners are introduced to new ideas like subordination, suffixes, tense and relative clauses. By giving our learners lots of time and attention they can gain real self-belief.
Putting the concepts into practice
Every week we have sessions where children put the above concepts to practical use. These fun sessions allow them to ingrain the concepts into their writing while being creative, using their imagination and having fun. They will create pieces of creative writing one day, a brochure the other, and be given the taste for both a rigorous and playful approach to the English language.
At Leap the sessions are not based on worksheets or online exercises. Our learners are given time, attention and encouragement by their English tutor during the sessions to gain knowledge and understanding. We believe that giving the opportunity to engage with their peers and English tutors, makes a real difference in how confident learners become in using language, whether it is spoken or written.
